Ready for Resale

Princeton, NJ

These empty nesters were ready for a change, but they were not ready to sell their home just yet. Their last design and decorating adventure was over 20 years ago, and the upholstery, after decades of raising children, was ready for a facelift. Like most well-used family homes, the finishes had run their full lifecycle and it was time to identify what needed to be addressed.

The MDG team helped assess the entire home and implemented a plan of action that would not only refresh the furniture but elevate certain areas of the home by giving it more (or less, in some cases) visual impact with a long-term goal of the house being “ready to sell”.

The foyer was updated with the removal of wallcovering and the addition of new trim work. The family room and living room were refreshed with new furnishings and new wallcovering for visual impact. Poor lighting was also addressed in theses spaces. The gym was given a full facelift with the removal of a wall, the addition of new flooring and a new glass privacy wall. Elegance and romance were added to the master bedroom with the addition of new trim work and wallcoverings to highlight the architecture of the space, and two new home offices were imagined (thankfully) pre-COVID, so our clients never missed a beat.

MDG worked with the client’s contractor to realize the multiple projects throughout the home.
