Plan B Engineering Offices Designed By The Art Of Bridget

Plan B Engineering

Huntingdon Valley, PA

Seven years before this project, I assisted Plan B with expanding their former offices. After analyzing their future needs, I discussed potential growth challenges with the owner and advised that it would only be a matter of time before the company would need a building of its own.

In 2014, the owner purchased his dream building in an industrial park just miles from his home. The original plan was to renovate the existing call center space. After further inspection, however, the building was found to have significant mold and water issues. While the damage was being remediated, I began planning the new and improved interior design for Plan B’s corporate headquarters.

The challenge was to create an inspiring environment that encouraged creativity and collaboration. As structural engineers and scaffold designers of major landmarks in New York City and around the world, Plan B’s work became the inspiration for the design. From custom scaffold-inspired shelving systems used to organize industrial samples and cinderblock worktables for large plans, to rivet-inspired crown molding details and a brightly colored creative lounge, the space was designed to support a fluid and dynamic work environment. There was even a dedicated “Zen” room for when the creative mind needed a break.

I worked closely with Horgan Construction and the architectural team to bring the project to completion on schedule. My scope of work included master planning, interior space planning, elevation and ceiling design, lighting design, material specifications, furniture specifications, furniture procurement, and project management. The project was completed in July 2015.
