Chef Jose Garces decided to move quickly to create an outdoor experience for his University City restaurant during the COVID crisis in 2020. The goal was to create a budget friendly quick assembly that could be taken down and reconstructed every season that also followed COVID protocols.
In less than two weeks, the MDG team developed a plan for space that utilized the colors, vibes and themes of the interior restaurant, and presented them to the client with a rendering package. Approval was immediate, and in less than eight weeks from the start of the design process, the previously unused space was up and running.
